This is the diesel engine that we have to dismantle..

First, we open all of the cover (top area - air inlet chamber)..

After opening the cylinder cover.. the inner parts of the area is also taken out..

Then, we can see the pistons..

The parts that were taken out were properly organized and placed..
After that, we will be cleaning all the parts and perhaps re-assemble it again on next week..

We got to dismantle an old types of compressor, it is an refrigerate compressor (single stage)..

Then, after opening all of the covers.. We found out that the inner parts of compressor were empty..

From other groups, we learn that inlet valve is bigger than the exhaust valve as shown below:-

 Inlet valve
Exhaust valve

Dismantling gate valve

.

My colleagues and I were learning on how to dismantle a gate valve. Here are the steps taken:-

1. Mark the component with a marker.
2. Open all the nuts or unbolt them to separate the components.
3. There is a gate disk inside the valve body where it is taken out using grip flier.
4. Clean all the components by brushing and then apply grease on them except for gate disk.
5. Apply the graining patch on the surfaces of gate disk for lapping to remove scratches and for flat surfaces.
Then, wipe it with a towel (avoid brush - scratches)
6. Then, the general gasket was cut  in a correct shape to fit in the between the end surface og valve bonnet and valve body.
7.The components were re-assembled and the nuts were tighten.

Using centre dot punch and a hammer to make holes for the gasket..

Making and cutting the gasket..
The gasket can be fit perfectly..

Singing Activities

.

Scared of bugs? Scared of heights? Scared of ghost? Scared of speaking in front of people? There are many things to be scared of, but WHICH ONE ARE YOU? and what is THE MOST SCARIEST thing for you?

Well, most of people scared of public speaking. It doesn't matter if the crowd is big or even small. It is mostly because you are scared of what people may think about you, scared that they cannot accept your presentation, scared that you might forget the details of your presentation, scared that you cannot control your own body or movement since you are shaking so much that it is obvious etc. How can this be? It is because you are not confident enough. Why? because you are not well-prepared.. so what should you do? search more, understand more about your topics and PRACTISE, PRACTISE and PRACTISE.

I have included some videos below.. It is a 'group singing' activity but then you will end up singing alone(video excluded).. For me, it really does makes a lot differences when singing in a group and alone. Since, it feel a lot safer and less humiliation when singing in a group especially when we have a bad voice.

Why sing alone? so that people can hear you, not others but only you.. how? but singing out loud.. It goes the same for presentation, your voice must be loud in order for your audience to listen and try to understand the information that you are trying to deliver. Then, have fun watching the videos... I only included two videos out of six (there are 5 groups and the extra one video is the match of the two person who matched for the winning title)
